EVERY LAST BREATH Synopsis: Some loves will last 'til your dying breath Every choice has consequences—but seventeen-year-old Layla faces tougher choices than most. Light or darkness. Wickedly sexy demon prince Roth, or Zayne, the gorgeous, protective Warden she never thought could be hers. Hardest of all, Layla has to decide which side of herself to trust. Layla has a new problem, too. A Lilin—the deadliest of demons—has been unleashed, wreaking havoc on those around her…including her best friend. To keep Sam from a fate much, much worse than death, Layla must strike a deal with the enemy while saving her city—and her race—from destruction. Torn between two worlds and two different boys, Layla has no certainties, least of all survival, especially when an old bargain comes back to haunt them all. But sometimes, when secrets are everywhere and the truth seems unknowable, you have to listen to your heart, pick a side—and then fight like hell… “Armentrout is a major talent…I just can’t stop reading!” --New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter “Armentrout works her magic with swoon-worthy guys and a twist you never see coming.” --#1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines on White Hot Kiss

Amazon ** Barnes and Noble ** BAM ** iBooks ** IndieBound ** Kobo ** Walmart

WHITE HOT KISS synopsis: One kiss could be the last. Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she's anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses. Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she's crushed on since forever. Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul. But when Layla discovers she's the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne…it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world. Stone Cold Touch - New Cover

Amazon ** Barnes and Noble ** iBooks ** IndieBound ** Kobo ** BAM

STONE COLD TOUCH Synopsis: Every touch has its price Layla Shaw is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life—no easy task for a seventeen-year-old who’s pretty sure things can’t get worse. Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could. But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla’s powers begin to evolve, and she’s offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden. Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She’s finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay… "Constantly entertaining...the narrative sizzles with as much tension as romance." —Kirkus Reviews on White Hot Kiss

And the Prequel Novella, BITTER SWEET LOVE...

Bitter Sweet Love - New Cover

Amazon ** Barnes and Noble ** iBooks ** BAM ** Kobo

BITTER SWEET LOVE Synopsis: In a sizzling prequel novella to her new series The Dark Elements, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout draws readers into the extraordinary, irresistible world of Wardens and demons. Dez wasn't just Jasmine's crush. A gargoyle Warden like Jas, he helped her come to terms with her destiny—fending off demons and maintaining the balance between good and evil. He was her everything…right until the moment he disappeared without a trace. It didn't help that Jas's father had just announced that she and Dez would one day be mated. Hard not to take that personally. And now he's back, three years older, ten times hotter, ready to pick up exactly where they left off. But Jas isn't taking that risk again. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again… "With her signature flare for combining humor, romance and action, Armentrout weaves a fast-paced read that will have readers' hearts racing in more ways than one. Like Armentrout's previous heroines, Jasmine is fun and full of attitude, while Dez is as snarky as he is sexy. This is a must read for new and old fans alike!" -RT Book Reviews

Review & Giveaway: Elixir by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Elixir (Covenant, #3.5)Elixir by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publisher:Spencer Hill Press
Release Date: November 27, 2012
Purchase: Amazon / Barnes & Noble
Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.
Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.
Even if it means making war against the gods.

My Thoughts:
Oh how I have missed this series.  I waited until I had Apollyon in my hands before starting Elixir because I knew I would just be  begging for more and after the way Deity ended I knew my poor heart wouldn’t be able to handle it. So now that I *squees* have Apollyon in my hands I have finally let myself read Elixir and On my gods was it so worth the wait.

This is a very short story that takes place after Alex has awakened and how everyone she loves tries to save her from herself and Seth.  I love Jennifer’s writing, there is just something about it that just grabs you and refuses to let go and even though I love Alex’s voice I love Aiden’s so much more.  I will admit I wasn’t Team Aiden from the start. After reading Deity my faith in Seth had diminished, but I was still proudly waving my Team Seth flag.  Now after consuming Elixir my poor little Team Seth flag is almost in the drawer.  Seth gave Alex what she needed in the previous books, Aiden pulled away and was so cruel ¾ of the time that I honestly had no love for the boy.  I wanted Alex to be with somebody who whispered sweet things in her ear and gave her everything he had, yes I know that there were obstacles and reasons why Aiden did what he did, but he was just so mean.  And now I have to eat my words because now I have gotten a glimpse into how Aiden feels and how strong he truly loves Alex.

Jennifer was brilliant for releasing this book. I know fans, myself included, loving reading chapters from her hero’s point of view and this one was amazing.  I loved seeing Aiden finally reveal his true feelings to everyone and put Alex first.  That is what I have wanted all along.  This book isn’t a happy ending by any means, but it does give us hope for the future if Aiden can break into Alex’s heart.

So *waves Team Aiden flag*  I am not totally on board but I am staring to feel the love.  I can’t wait to start Apollyon!

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: Cursed by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Today WinterHaven Books has the opportunity to review Cursed by Jennifer L. Armentrout as part of K-Books blog tour. Thank you Kayleigh for allowing us to participate!

CursedCursed By Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Release Date: September 18, 2012
Purchase: Amazon / Barnes and Noble
Dying sucks-- and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand. After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.

Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he's a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she's more than interested. There's just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out.

However, she's willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And hell, she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't? But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not have been an accident at all, she's not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life. For real this time.

My thoughts:
I know now without a shadow of a doubt, that whatever Jennifer writes will be pure awesomesauce.  Cursed is the first in what I hope is a long line of books.  This book is definitely different from Jennifer's other novels, but it still packs the punch that I have grown to love in her writing.

I seem to be seeing a trend in the whole X-Meny type books and when I found out this was going to be apart of this (hopefully) series I was a little worried.  The whole superheroish thing can be a hit or miss with me, but I did have faith in Jennifer and i am so very happy to say that she not only made me a believer but she completely wiped the floor with the other books in this genre.  In the story we have Ember a not so typical teenage girl.  Having to take care of her sister is one thing, but  having to make sure she doesn't bring animals back to life is a while other issue.  Their lives are anything but ordinary and when a hawt guy and his stepfather show up to take them away her world gets turned upside down.  Nothing is as it seems and Ember has to make several tough decisions that not only impact herself but her little sister as well.

This book had so many different things going on, but it never felt confusing.  Everything unraveled smoothly and I loved how everything ended up being laid out.    I will say that it took me a little while to warm up to Ember.  I was with her in the beginning but something just changed within her and I had to take a step back.  By the end of the book I was with her again, but it did take awhile.  I am getting spoiled by every book I pick up being a series so i am really hoping that this one turns into one. I want way more Hayden and Ember, I want to know more about Ember's Dad and Mom, and well I just want to know more about this world.

Onyx by Jennifer Armentrout

Onyx by Jennifer Armentrout
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Release Date: August 14, 2012

Summary Blurb (GR):
Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarre connection. I’ve sworn him off even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But against all common sense, I’m falling for him. Hard.

Our relationship issues aren’t out biggest problem…

The Department of Defense is here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And when a new boy shows up a school with a secret of his own, things get complicated fast. I need to choose between my own instincts and Daemon’s.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. Daemon’s never going to stop searching until gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies

My Thoughts:
I want to live inside Jennifer Armentrouts brain.  Really I am not kidding, if there was a way I would totally leave all other books behind and just live inside her masterful mind and watch Daemon.  *sigh* I am officially obsessed.
If you thought Obsidian was hot, you haven’t seen anything yet.  The first few chapters were so hot and squee worthy that I found myself squeeing out loud and  I think the poor person sitting next to me on the airplane thought I was having a heart attack.  She gave me several WTH looks and I just kept on smiling and squeeing because really I had no control over my behavior.
The story takes off right where Obsidian ended with Daemon rising to the challenge of making Katy his and trying to keep the DOD away from his family and Katy.  After the big light show at the ending of Obsidian the DOD starts asking questions and that is never a good thing for our resident aliens.  I still really appreciate that Katy is a book blogger.  I loved all the little blogger details that were put into Katy’s life. It made her seem more real and I could totally connect with her.  I also really give Katy kudos for sticking to her guns and making it hard for Daemon to win back her love after everything that he put her through in the first book.  She stood up for herself and it was amazing to see a strong female character not fall for the guy just because he is hot.  The Katy/Daemon moments were awesome and I love their chemistry together.  It was awesome seeing a new side to Daemon, but I have to say I still the pen poking arrogant side lol.
What unfolds as far as the actual story is a very intense plot which I never saw coming and I have to say that I cannot wait to get my hands on Opal!  The ending is killer and I have so many hopes for all the characters involved.  That is all I am going to say because the plot twist it pure brilliance and I don’t want to give anything away.
I have to gush a little about Jennifer Armentrout.  There are not that many authors who could write so many series at once and keep them all interesting but Jennifer has accomplished this flawlessly.  I want Deity just as much as I want Opal.  I am so excited to read her new book Cursed and her adult debut novel Unchained.  Every time I think about any of these books I start bouncing and everyone I know does the same.  She is awesome and like I said I just want to live in her mind.
