Waiting on Wednesday, #41

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases we can't wait to get our hands on.

Here's my selection for this week...

Expected Publication: September 24, 2013
Publisher: Walker Books for Young Readers
After getting kicked out of boarding school, bad boy Derek Fitzpatrick has no choice but to live with his ditzy stepmother while his military dad is deployed. Things quickly go from bad to worse when he finds out she plans to move them back to her childhood home in Illinois. Derek’s counting the days before he can be on his own, and the last thing he needs is to get involved with someone else’s family drama.

Ashtyn Parker knows one thing for certain--people you care about leave without a backward glance. A football scholarship would finally give her the chance to leave. So she pours everything into winning a state championship, until her boyfriend and star quarterback betrays them all by joining their rival team. Ashtyn needs a new game plan, but it requires trusting Derek—someone she barely knows, someone born to break the rules. Is she willing to put her heart on the line to try and win it all?

To hear that one of my favorite YA Contemporary writers is finally coming out with another book is nothing short of exciting! I love Simone Elkeles's writing!! She is all sorts of talented with her funny scenes, steamy writing and feel-so-real characters! Also, did I read right that her latest protag is a girl hoping to land a football scholarship??? All I can say is D.J. Schwenk anyone??? This one is at the top of my list and I can wait to meet Derek and Ashtyn in Wild Cards!!

Sooo... what book are you waiting on? Be sure to link me up!

  1. Hmm...I love the cover. I loved the first half of the summary too and then I got a little disappointed. I'm not a sports reader for the most part. I hope you enjoy!
