New Roomies!!

We are very excited to announce our new blog roommates!  Arlene and Tina are 2 of the sweetest people we know and we can't imagine anyone who would be a better fit for this blog.  Please help us welcome these wonderful women to our home! And yes we made them write the dreaded "Hi, this is me" post lol.

Tina:

Hi all,My name is Tina and I'm a huge lover of the written world. Believe it or not, I only started loving books in my late 20's but it's been an adventure ever since. I firmly believe if your going to escape your own reality, you might as well go as far as you can get;)

Arlene:

Hi! My name is Arlene, and I’m one of the newest additions to the Winterhaven Blog.  

 

I’m so excited to join this fantastical group of reviewers. I’ve known them for years, and we’ve read dozens and dozens of books together, so joining Winterhaven as a fellow reviewer is pure excitement. They know my weaknesses when it comes to books, and they indulge my fangirl tendencies on some of my favorite characters. So girls.. you’re stuck with me. 

 

As you can tell from my Goodreads account, I love to read, review and talk about books. This coming year and moving forward, as a reader/reviewer I’d like to put some focus on one of my passions, which is Australian literature both YA and adult.  Some of my favorite books and authors come from this magical land of awesomeness. There’s just something about these books that have a way of constantly reminding me why I love to read. So, you’ll be seeing me spend a lot of time reading and promoting some of these Aussie books in the hopes of getting some buzz out there and ultimately getting easier access to them in the States.

 

My reviewing and rating process is simple… (1) I keep it subjective. (2) It depends on my mood. (3) I have certain themes that resonate with me. However, one thing is constant…  I always… always jump into a book with the hopes of falling in love with it. I turn off my critical electric circuit and keep it off unless the writing hits a soft spot, then watch out. But I promise you, I love to read and my track record speaks for itself.
