Goodreads Blurb:

Many readers know the tale of Robin Hood, but they will be swept away by this new version full of action, secrets, and romance.

Posing as one of Robin Hood’s thieves to avoid the wrath of the evil Thief Taker Lord Gisbourne, Scarlet has kept her identity secret from all of Nottinghamshire. Only the Hood and his band know the truth: the agile thief posing as a whip of a boy is actually a fearless young woman with a secret past. Helping the people of Nottingham outwit the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham could cost Scarlet her life as Gisbourne closes in.

It’s only her fierce loyalty to Robin—whose quick smiles and sharp temper have the rare power to unsettle her—that keeps Scarlet going and makes this fight worth dying for.

My Thoughts:

"You are my whole heart, Scarlet. And this is breaking it."

Scarlet is one of those books that you can't help but love. It's got a kick but heroine, action, suspense and romance. The cover itself is beautiful. As soon as I saw this, I knew I had to have it and would love it. Robin Hood was one of my childhood favorites and I loved the changes and the mystery weaved into the story.

Scarlet was an amazing heroine. She had distinguished courage and I admired her for her brave deeds and noble qualities. But Scarlet has a secret of her own. The people of Nottingham know her as a boy, Will Scarlet, but that isn't her only secret. The secrets of her past are in danger of being exposed when the thief taker Lord Gisbourne comes to aid the evil Sheriff to hunt down Robin and his band of thieves.

The plot was solid and the characters were well developed. I liked the fact that John was smitten with Scarlet which threw an added twist to the storyline. You could feel the tension Scarlet felt when Lord Gisbourne came to town. Of course, you will find out her secrets and why her fears were so great. It was such a fascinating story and one I will read again. I just loved this debut.

  1. An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
