Blog Tour: Glamorous Illusions by Lisa T. Bergren

About the book:                           Glamorous Illusions
Title: Glamorous Illusions
Author: Lisa Tawn Bergren

It was the summer of 1913, and Cora Kensington's life on the family farm has taken a dark turn. Not only are the crops failing, so is her father's health. Cora is carrying on, helping her mother run their Montana farm until a stranger comes to call, and everything changes. Cora then learns a secret that will radically change her future: she is the illegitimate daughter of a copper king who has come to claim her.
Cora is invited to take the "Grand Tour" of Europe, a journey intended to finish a person's education, to solidify an understanding of ancient culture and contemporary refinement. As she travels from England to France with half-siblings she's never known, Cora encounters the blessings of the Kensington family name, as well as the curses. But when an unbidden love begins to form, she realizes the journey is only beginning.
Faced with the challenge of accepting her father, new family, and the identity that comes with it, Cora also struggles to accept that she is also the daughter of the one true King-a Father who is the only One who can truly heal.
Our Thoughts:

What a fantastic journey, Glamorous Illusions was. There are about 100 different reasons why you should not hesitate and read this book. Perhaps you will see it merely as a Cinderella story with a hint of faith in the background, or maybe a love triangle or perhaps a lesson on European sites? No. This was so, so much more.

Glamorous Illusions is a journey based on young Cora Diehl. The setting reminded me of the beautiful writing of Jeannette Oak, in the Love Comes Softly series. This story began in 1913, Montana. Cora came home from “teacher college” to find her father had suffered a stroke. The times were difficult, and being farmers during a drought surely weighed heavily on the families. Cora drew strength from her faith as she set out to conquer these difficult times, without the help of her father's ailing self. Upon these hard times, a stranger comes to aide Cora and her family. He was no stranger though, he was a secret tucked deep beneath the shell of her mother. A secret that will change the course of Cora's future, but deep down, not the person she grew up to be. Cora now has the weight of an elephant on her shoulders. I couldn't imagine how she feels with all the new information and decisions she was facing. Truly ones a mature young woman who believes in her faith must think heavily on.

Cora was invited to take the “Grand Tour” of Europe. This trip was intended to finish the client's education and an understanding of refinement, history and culture. Cora will travel with kin she has never known, nor knew existed until the stranger came. She was thrown into a new world so unlike anything she had ever known or experienced with companions that were shallow and unruly. It wasn't because of who she was as a person, but when you read this, I assure you all your questions will be answered.

Mrs. Bergren wrote the descriptions of these magical locations with clarity and created a beautiful vision for the reader. I could easily picture the chateau's, the lovely gardens and the beautiful dresses adorned by the women of this era.

Not only along the route does Cora ask for guidance from the big guy above, but she personally needed to figure out who she will be, where she fits into it all. There are many characters that play a vital role in such a fantastic story, but in Glamorous Illusions, there are a few male counterparts that really stand out and will make you melt. The french accent of (Pierre) Lord de Richelieu, which the name just the icing on the cake compared to how alluring and swoonworthy he is. There also is Will. Will (sigh) is as swoonworthy, but beneath his layers of awesomenss, he too is seeking for answers.

Throughout this journey, I had been captivated from the very beginning to the very end. There's just something so magical about the way Mrs. Bergren writes. I fell hard for her River Of Time series. If you have not read Waterfall, Cascade and Torrent, I highly suggest you do so, like, yesterday. Once you get a feel for her writing, you just melt into the story with ease and read at a leisurely pace so you can soak in the beautiful descriptions and settings as well as the story itself.

I have to say, she threw a twist in there that really surprised me, but in a very good way. She aims to please, and that she does.

Bourne (River of Time, 3.1) by Lisa Tawn Bergren

Bourne (River of Time, #3.1)
Published February 27th 2012 by Bergren Creative Group, Inc.

Fantastic! Another action packed Gem!! Lisa T. Bergren has created such an alluring world for her readers.

I love the action, suspense and the chemistry between the characters. I have grown so fond of her characters and feel a connection with them. It's truly magical when you feel completely immersed into a story. After reading Waterfall, Cascade, and Torrent, I knew without hesitation I had to read Bourne.

In Bourne, the POV alternates between Lia and Gabi, which I like. I felt like I got to know Lia a little better because of it.The relationship between Lia and Luca really develops through Bourne. It was a nice paced read.

There isn't a whole lot of Lord Greco, ladies. But I truly believe that in this short installment, he is fighting his own personal demons while we get a more intimate look into Lia and Luca's budding relationship.

This is a bridge between Torrent and Tributary. I absolutely love this series for so many reasons. I can almost guarantee if you read this series, you will be in it for the long haul.

Torrent (River of Time, #3) by Lisa T. Bergren

Torrent (River of Time, #3)
Rating: 5 Snowflakes

The River of Time series is a Timeless Masterpiece that will capture your heart…

Torrent:
1. a stream of water flowing with great rapidity and violence.
2. a rushing, violent, or abundant and unceasing stream of anything: a torrent of lava.

The title Torrent is so perfectly suited for the third and final installment of the River of Time series. Since falling deeply for Waterfall and Cascade, I couldn’t even fathom the idea of not completing this series. It had me completely and utterly captivated and therefore, a lifetime fan of Lisa T. Bergren.
When looking for a book to read, one that will totally have you thinking about it at all hours of the night even days and weeks after, you know you have read something that is masterly crafted and brilliant.
The Betarrini sister’s are back with an element of surprise. Not only do they have their mother, but they have successfully saved their father. The Betarrini family has set off once again back in time, to be with the men they have come to love. Without fail, Mrs. Bergren has set the pace for action, suspense, lust and romance. There is never an easy path for the She-wolves of Sienna. Their skill and determination has come with a price and they are deeply wanted by Lord Cosmo Paratore. The stakes are higher and the action intense. You will fall in love with some new characters and deeply fall for Lord Rodolfo Greco. (Sorry ladies, he’s taken by my friend Nic) The Betarrini family will work together to overcome obstacles like never before, face tough decisions and rely on their faith to help and see them through.
This story isn’t just all action and romance. There is a deeper story within. It’s about trusting God and having faith in him, believing that everything will turn out for the best in the end. When it’s all said and done, the most important of all is Family and living life to it’s fullest.
The dialogue was smooth, the conflict was fatal, the suspense was a nail-biter and had me gripping the sides of my chair. This is an ABSOLUTE MUST-READ! TORRENT will take your breath away.

Cascade (River of Time, #2) by Lisa T. Bergren

Cascade by Lisa Tawn Bergren
Rating: 5 Snowflakes

This is going to be short and sweet simply because It's so hard to write a review and do it justice on a book that completely sweeps you off your feet in every way possible!!! This is such an AMAZING series and I really, really don't want it to ever end!!

Cascade was another addicting addition to River of Time series. I can ramble on and on but if you have read Waterfall, you are in for another AWESOME reading experience that will linger in your thoughts for quite some time. I read this a while ago now, and I still feel giddy when I think about it! It is a MUST read! Absolutely hands down one of my ALL-Time FAVS!!!

I love that there is never a dull moment, the action keeps anyone with a hint of A.D.D flipping those pages and totally submerged within them!

You get action, romance, deception, a heroin with more will-power and determination that makes your heart pump at an excessive rate (those who have cardiac conditions..may want to read in intervals) (just joking). You have a major swoon-worthy male counterpart that will have you squeezing your book/e-reader in the palms of your hands and hopeing to the high heavens that he reveals those luscious abs that we all come to love! Not only that, but let me tell you, Marcello is not only all of the above but he has a heart of gold and a deep devotion of love for Gabby that anyone with a fairy-tale dream generated guy in their mind will fit him in that place.

You want secondary characters that blow your mind and add just as much flavor to the story...this one has that and more.

Cascade picks up right where Waterfall left off. The She-Wolves of Siena are back with more tough decisions, bubonic plague etc.

This isn't my typical review and I have a tendancy to ramble on about books I am totally in love with, but I just can't say enough how much I love it!
