My Thoughts

The first book of the Eramane series the cast of player was set and the world was introduced. Book two, Blood Soaked Ashes has opened this world and the characters hearts in ways we never imagined possible. Just because the demon is gone does not mean Eramane is out of the woods, in fact now that she is a bit "changed" she faces even more threats, especially from those who see her still as a danger such as Queen Harran. They want an alliance with the new king Fahnestock, who also is Er's brother, and will stop at nothing to secure this. This book is so choke full of deceits and powers moves that I simply couldn't stop reading to see who came out on top...or should I say alive. There is a vastness to this whole world and detail to this world that I am drawn to. I can truly say this is high fantasy at its best.
Limearsy is the one who quite literally saved Eramane so it's really interesting to see how the dynamic between them has grown into something new and keeps on evolving. He is as loyal as they come and the one solid person Eramane has in her life right now. I love his fierceness when I comes to her as it is a slow smoldering burn. There is an extremely strong magical system is this book. Eramane is called a breather, a person who can draw in and expel elements at her command. It is a beautiful thing to see Eramane grow into this strong confident woman as she learns how to weird this massive power. She has lived quite a shelter life but been thru hell and back and it really shows in this book.
This book has a bit of everything for fantasy lovers. However just keep in mind this is absolutely HIGH fantasy. There is some serious graphic violence but if you can handle that you should be alright. This is an incredible tale of what it takes to overcome guilt within your heart and become what you are fated for. I know this is book 2 in the series but it can definitely be read as a standalone. I do not remember a ton about the first book but I was still able to clearly follow the plot which is a struggle that some high fantasy books encounter.

The things in my purse are a steampunk notepad, tissues, altoids, hand sanitizer, pens, burt’s bees and Eos chapsticks, Eos hand lotion, a bird ring that I took off weeks ago along with a triangle studded bracelet, my wallet, phone and glasses, a mini flashlight because I never want to be in the dark, earbuds, and a giant key that is really and ink pen but I think it’s the key to Narnia.
