WinterHaven Books is excited to be starting its FIFTH Blogging year. Time has flown by so quickly, and we can’t believe how many books we’ve had the pleasure of sharing with the reading community.
To add to the excitement, we’d like to announce that our WinterHaven Team is growing! This coming year, we’re adding two new team members who’ll introduce themselves in a just a bit. EXCITEMENT!
But first, let us share why we’ve decided to grow our family. First and foremost, reading is our passion and as we’ve grown our blog we’ve had the honor of meeting and partnering with many publishers and authors. We’d like to make sure we have the people resources and proper attention to read and review those books that deserve to be shared with the reading community. With a larger team, we plan to participate in more blog tours and meme posts, spend more time visiting other blogs that share the same interests as us, and take on more review requests that come in for our team. We’re excited to offer our followers, visitors and publishers a site that focuses on getting the word out there about books that deserve attention. =)
So now let’s meet our new blog roommates!
Hi there! *waves* My name is Brittany but I usually go by Britt. I have been an avid reader since...well since forever. I have always loved the printed word but my "obsession" began when I was 17 and I met a darling lil' wizard with a lightning scar on his forehead. I began reviewing on goodreads about 2.5 years ago but started seriously blogging March of last year. I am a lover of all magical things and have a secret wise to be fae. My genre of choice is fantasy, with fairytale retellings being my absolute favorite! Thank goodness they are in no short supply right now! My reading goal for this upcoming year is 125 books that's 25 more than last year. I'm pretty fortunate to be able to be a stay at home mom right now. My most important job is teaching my 3 year old son how to be an amazing human being before I release him into the wild. Other than reading I like *to pretend* to work out and cook a ton!! Weird combo, right? I'm so very excited to join my new "roomies" since they are awesome & I have adored Winterhaven Books from the start. It was one of the first blogs I began following upon entering into the community. I can't wait to CAPSLOCK FLAIL with you guys over all the up and coming bookish goodness. See you soon!
Hi, my name is Milka and I am super excited to "meet" you all and become part of the WinterHaven Books team. I have been a reader since I can remember and while growing up my idea of a fun sleepover was going to the library, borrowing Sweet Valley High novels, reading them in silence and then discussing them in the morning (btw, that is still my idea of a fun sleepover... though I have extended my repertoire to books other than Sweet Valley High novels). I started reading book blogs in 2008 and soon started to write my own reviews. Since then, I have been falling more and more in love with books and the book blogging community and you really have no idea how excited I am to take this step and join the WinterHaven Books team. In the past couple of years, YA contemporary has become my go-to genre, but I still do occasionally venture into fantasy, paranormal and dystopian novels. For 2015, I have set my reading goal to 80 books, but I am hoping that I am able to increase the goal as the year processes, much like I did in 2014. While I am not reading or writing reviews, I like to fangirl over films and television shows - I am actually a fourth year film student in university, about to graduate later in 2015. In addition to being in love with multiple fictional characters from books, television and film, I am also a massive ice hockey fan and follow games from both the Finnish hockey league and NHL. Joining this team is really a dream come true for me because it allows me to share my love for books with this wonderful community and I hope that I get to chat with all of you as much as possible about all the wonderful books and characters we readers tend to fall in love with.
