The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, called “a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love.”
With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.
The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu. Tahereh Mafi has created a captivating and original story that combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, and was praised by Publishers Weekly as “a gripping read from an author who’s not afraid to take risks.” Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and satisfying end.
For so many years, I lived in constant terror of myself. Doubt had married my fear and moved into my mind, where it build castles and ruled kingdoms and reigned over me, bowing my will to its whispers until I was little more than an acquiescing peon, too terrified to disobey, too terrified to disagree.
Finally! One of those rare occasions where rooting for the underdog pays off! This series finale was absolutely epic and it reaffirmed my feelings that the most likely of heroes isn’t always the sure bet.
In this final installment of the Shatter Me series, Tahereh Mafi once again proves that she can blend action, romance and intrigue to create a spellbinding adventure. I’ve enjoyed this series from book one, and I can say with confidence that fans of Mafi willNOT be disappointed with the conclusion.
He leans into my ear. Lowers his voice. “Ignite, my love. Ignite.”
In Ignite Me, Juliette is shocked to find out that The Omega Point has collapsed and The Reestablishment as claimed yet another victory. Recovering from a fatal wound, Warner comes to her aid in the most unlikely of circumstances. As these two spend time together, she uncovers a whole new layer to this complicated character and begins to develop feelings for him.
He’s unraveling before me, becoming something entirely different; terrifying me in a way I never could’ve expected.
When she reunites with her friends, her new formed alliance with Warner shakes up the core of her unit and leaves her wondering who she can rely on to bring The Reestablishment down.
There were some tough moments to read in this story, especially between Juliette and Adam. Seeing what he was capable of, at times felt out of character, but somehow made the story more intriguing and dramatic. It was great to see the friendships between Juliette, Kenji, Castle, Brendan, Winston, Lily, Ian and Alia grow to a whole new level.
However, the epic event in this book was between Juliette and Warner. I could not have asked for anything more. Their moments were sincere, vulnerable and HOT! I knew from the beginning that Mafi could create some steamy moments, and HOLY HOTNESS she sure turned it up a notch in this book.
Overall, Ignite Me was a perfect conclusion to the Shatter Me series and I can’t wait to see what adventures Tahereh Mafi creates next. Well done!
