Waiting on Wednesday, #13

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we can't wait to get our hands on.

The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling
Expected publication: September 27, 2012
Publisher: Little, Brown and Company
When Barry Fairbrother dies in his early forties, the town of Pagford is left in shock.
Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war.
Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils...Pagford is not what it first seems.
And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?

I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one eagerly anticipating Rowling’s first novel for adults, The Casual Vacancy. Her long hiatus after publishing the final installment of Harry Potter left me wondering for quite some time how long we’d have to wait for her to share her captivating storytelling once again.

Harry Potter was my first introduction into the YA Fantasy category and as much as it now tends to be one of my favorite genres nothing will ever come close to comparing to that series. As a matter of fact, when I see a book described as “the next Harry Potter”, that’s a big red flag for me to stay far far away because truly there’s just no comparison, so let’s not start a book relationship on false pretenses, right?

Well after holding out for five long years for J.K.Rowling to publish another book, the wait is finally over! This book hits the shelves tomorrow and as pricey as it may seem, I’ll definitely be in line purchasing a copy for my book collection. This one will not be an eBook purchase for me, I’d like very much to hold and hug this book having waited so long for it to come out. Truly excited!!

Sooo, what book are you waiting on?
