I will not lose another person I love. I will not let history repeat itself.

Vincent waited lifetimes to find me, but in an instant our future together was shattered. He was betrayed by someone we both called a friend, and I lost him. Now our enemy is determined to rule over France’s immortals, and willing to wage a war to get what they want.

It shouldn’t be possible, none of it should be, but this is my reality. I know Vincent is somewhere out there, I know he’s not completely gone, and I will do anything to save him.

After what we’ve already fought to achieve, a life without Vincent is unimaginable. He once swore to avoid dying—to go against his nature and forsake sacrificing himself for others—so that we could be together. How can I not risk everything to bring my love back to me?

My Thoughts
IF I Should Die is the last book in the Revenants trilogy. Being a huge fan after reading Die For Me, I couldn’t wait to have that final copy in my hands and find out how this journey was going to end. I wanted to know what was going to happen to Vincent and the other revenents I had come to love. Of course I loved this story, but there were a few things that kept me at a 4.5 snowflake rating. The predictability was somewhat a hindrance. I love to be kept guessing, but when the storyline feels so mapped out the excitability decreases. Not to say that this wasn’t at all a fabulous book. I just didn’t experience that in the first two books. The other that chipped away at my rating was that fact that some of the scenes felt contrived. Being the final book, tying up loose ends is important. I just felt pieces were predictable and forced.
This story picks up where Kate is on the bridge and she thought she heard Vincent’s voice. Violette was determined to gain the power of the Champion. Little did Violette know, the smart and determined Kate would stop at nothing to get back the man she loved. I admire the fierceness that Kate displayed. She’s always been an awesome protagonist, and clever as well. One character that I looked forward to was Kate’s sister Georgia. She cracked me up and I just get a kick out of her. And of course, I just love Jules. He’s sweet and just an awesome character. I have a soft spot for him.
The story gets pretty intense as they seek a way to free Vincent from Violette’s hold. New characters emerge and a secret is revealed involving Jean Baptiste. Bran played a vital role throughout this story and I would love to learn more about the guerisseurs and their history. I found them to be fascinating.
As their journey unfolds, a battle ensues. Said battle was awesome! I thought it was well played and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I was truly satisfied. I bounced with excitement as Charlotte gets her HEA, and everything was tied up nicely at the end. There were loses and new loves found. I will forever adore this trilogy and I truly hope that one day Ms Plum will consider doing a spin off. There are just so many avenues to expand on. Until then, I will treasure this trilogy that I have grown so fond of and keep them on my favorite’s shelf.
Overall I gave this a rating of 4.5 snowflakes.
